Marie Laywine - artist statement

"In my painting I work with what I call the 'interior landscape' ; I use images and ideas from my dreams to help me represent visually the mountain ranges and coastal plains inside a person."

Marie Laywine is a qualified and state registered art therapist and is a professional artist. She has travelled extensively following the dream and setting up studios across the world.

The use of her dreams as source for her paintings led her to the art therapy course at the University of Hertforshire.

Her experience in art therapy for the past 22 years is extensive and includes work with: children in care, substance abuse, forensic, obsessive compulsive disorder, eating disorders, professional women's group (Canada), creative block, personal development, supervision and private clients.
